In which the Mayor of Vista STANDS UP FROM HIS DINNER to shake my hand

On Wednesday night I attended the Installation Ceremony for the new Board of Directors for the Vista Village Business Association, which was also attended by all kinds of importanty local folks including our City Council Members and even the Mayor (!).



(Of course, I had brought my real camera to take some real photos of the store, after posting several crappy iPhone photos, and then managed to leave my real camera at the store when I left for the reception, and hence I only have a crappy iPhone photo of the Mayor -- sad times.)

After the reception and installation of the new President and the new Board, as we were leaving to return to our renovations at Clever Knits, my mama (who is also my schmoozing guru) walked up to the Mayor's table, interrupted the ongoing conversations about importanty local matters, and said to him, "I was just leaving, but wanted to introduce you to my daughter before we left."

At which point he stood up from his dinner to shake my hand, while my mama proceeded to tell him all about my excitingly awesome new store (which, by the way, is opening on Sunday, July 5th!).
