    Not to be confused with "fon-don't"

    Went to a lovely little get-together at my friend Ruth's last night to ring in the new year with friends, at which my mind was COMPLETELY changed on the subject of fondue. My friend Sarah from Boston (not to be confused with Sarah from Santa Barbara) brought her Swiss father's VERY strict fondue recipe and it was DELICIOUS.



    I brought my favourite Muhammara Dip, but for shortage of dip-vehicles in my household and a total lack of desire to stop at the store, I spent the afternoon making whole-wheat crackers (the recipe is the same, just swap whole wheat flour for the white flour). I'm not sure I'll EVER purchase crackers again, these were so marvelously tasty and wholesome.



    We even rang in the new year with a champagne toast in my aunt's rave-chalices, and spent the first hour of aught-eight reading tarot cards, to see what the next year has in store for us. It was perfect.
